Completed in 2009 this new park, in Brixton, S London, is strategically placed to act as a focal point and meeting place for the comprehensively renovated Angell Town Estate community. The parks completion is the final part of a comprehensive housing regeneration package. It is strategically sited to provide local residents with play facilities for their children while offering a place to relax and meet. It complements the mixture of quality new and renovated housing which has reanimated this part of Brixton.
The provision of seating, hard surfaces, play equipment and planting, is a continuation of the work we carried out in conjunction with Burrell Foley Fischer to provide new housing, gardens and open spaces on the site of the former Pym House within the estate.
‘Secure by design’ principals were used to assist in augmenting the strategy for a safe and durable external environment.
