The refurbishment of an existing One O’clock club in a parkland setting witihn Brockwell Park in Brixton, South London. The out door areas of the Club were re-designed to create a garden setting for the new Surestart Centre. A series of sculpted mounds create engaging undulations for under-fives with the addition of an orchard, a story-telling area and a light and shade willow tunnel.
A hedge of native species screens the fencing, creating a secure and inviting garden. The species rich hedge significantly enhances existing habitats whilst providing green corridor connectivity to the surrounding wildlife habitats in the immediate vicinity of the park.
