Peabody Avenue is a fine example of a stock brick housing estate built by the Peabody in the 1870’s. The scheme revives bomb damaged and derelict parts of the estate including an area of new buildings designed by Haworth Tompkins Architects.  Peabody Avenue has a distinctive character and is protected by Conservation Area status. A row of historic London plane trees down its centre is approximately 280 metres long and has significant impact on the quality and character of the open space.

We were commissioned to design a substantially upgraded avenue surface, design new play areas, a ball court and community garden facilities. Substantial works to preserve the stock of historic trees in the avenue have taken place.
