The provision of play areas, spaces for contemplation and an outdoor performance stage for a refurbished mixed-use Victorian building which has the addition of a new wing. The new Surestart nursery was provided with secure play areas and a raised deck area. The existing garden was re-designed for use by the community for events, performances, education and relaxation.

The children were responsible for planting their area with plants chosen for colour, smell and texture. Robust but imaginative planting for a nursery environment is complemented by the mixed borders of evergreens, grasses and herbaceous planting in the Performance garden.
