A major urban regeneration project for the Peabody Trust and the London Borough of Southwark, involving the demolition of 1960’s blocks of flats and their replacement with mixed-tenure new-build housing. Circulation around the estate shapes the public spaces between the blocks private spaces are created within the courtyards, with ground floor apartments having individual gardens. The native hedge planting to the boundary of the estate has significantly increased the ecological diversity of the site.

Home Zones assist in the control of parking, pedestrian safety and traffic calming measures. Cycle storage, recycling and CHP were fundamental to meet the sustainability aspirations of the scheme. The consultation with tenants prior to decanting was extensive, with subsequent consultation for Phase II.
